Early to Bed

Early to rise, just means I am behind at work.  

They instituted a "Hey kids, lets have a show" thing.  Let's change a process that you've been using for the past 6 years.  All well and good.  But they give you limited info, and change it during a time when there are two holidays, half the staff is on vacation, (Including the Large-Brained Ring Leader who started this nonsense).  It's been a bit disruptive to say the least.  Poorly implemented.  I would expect nothing less from the brain trust in Kentucky and Ohio.

UP AND RUNNING!

We thought our computers were full.  That they were old and slow, needed replacement.  Well, that's kinda true.  They are old.  We both have external drives for all the extra stuff we think we need to keep.  But they are no longer slow.  

Turns out the old Wireless Router was on it's last legs.  The poor thing worked every single day and night for the last 5 years or so.  It just gave up.  Could take no more.

The replacement Linksys works like a charm.  Yay!

Never until last night did I have full bars of signal on my iPod Touch.   Nifty!

Atlanta

Oh, Atlanta.  What a city to drive in!

Michael's Father's graveside service was on the West side of Atlanta.  Very sad and sobering to see 2 kids our daughter's age bury their father.

And then the drive to the Northeast side of Atlanta, where Michael's Grandparents live.  Crazy fast drivers.  It seems faster, sure, because we were unfamiliar with the place, but I really don't think anyone was doing less than 75, unless it was congested.

Felt welcomed at the Grandparents home.  Very nice "Southern Living" home, but homey and welcoming.  Their church fixed and brought to the house a fine meal.  Wonderful southern cooking.  Lots of pecans.

Another Loss

Meredith just called to say that Michael's dad passed away tonight.  He raised Michael and Amanda.  He was only 51.  Heart attack.  We didn't get the chance to meet Michael's parents when we were down there.  Sad.

Well, there was this Florida Trip

And now it's snowing.  Biting wind and snowing.  Nothing much here, just flurries.  But it ain't like the above shot!

Home Again!

Every-time (just before we head back) we wonder, "Why on Earth do we live in Indiana?"

Colts didn't look horrible the Whole game!  Going for it on 4th and whatever lead to 2 Tennessee scores.  I told Chuck, "You remember how nice 7 & 0 feels?"

More Bounty

Sink full!  I have 3 quarts and one half pint taking a hot bath right now, and I will can no more tonight.  Tired of standing up!

Putting Stuff Up

I have Giant Peaches!  From my little 4 year old, 15-20 foot peach tree.  I do not remember the variety, but this year, it went all out with the peaches.  Yay!

Next time I will know to shove the peaches in the jar a bit tighter.  In a few days, I will have enough peaches for another 12 pints.  Peaches (and tomatoes) from the store should be outlawed!

Blah

Dreary, draggy end of Summer.  Beginning of Fall.  I think this was the last day for a while in the 80's.  Thunderstorms tomorrow night and cooler for the rest of the week.  Yay!  Love the cooler weather, hate the yellow jackets.  Nasty, mean things!

Given apparent free reign at work to surf whatever, I didn't.

Busy at work, bowling has started up, Irish Fest was this weekend.  Silent auction for Jodi's sister was this evening.  Bursitis.  Steroid Injection in Knee, mostly better now.  The pics are from the hotel room downtown at Embassy Suites (precautionary Irish Fest lodgings) and the reflection of the Capitol Building on the walk to the hotel room.  Tired now.
