Wow, the Rain

As of 10:00 tonight, it looks like some areas around Vincennes have received nearly 6 inches of rain since this onslaught started.
I spoke with a gentleman from southern Indiana today.  He runs a lawn/landscaping business and said, "this storm is just parked on top of us" and that no one was working.  I was happy to tell him, and he was appreciative to hear that we'd be sending nearly 40 thousand dollars his way.
I see over and over and over on message boards that folks seem to think health insurance companies have rooms of people whose sole job it is to deny claims.  You really should know that we are MORE THAN HAPPY to approve something than deny it.  Denial letters are such a pain to write.  We hate it.  Really.
And I must say again, just because you pay premiums, don't mean you get every single thing you want, or even every single thing your doctor wants you to have.  Yep, the doc thinks you should have the head transplant (I know I'm being flip) but that head transplant has to meet criteria.  And that criteria is exactly the same for Every Single Person, whether they pay 40 bucks a check for insurance or thousands a month for those premiums.    I hear "You won't let me have this procedure, drug, etc." when in reality, you may have whatever in the world you think you need.  Or the doctor thinks you need.  But there are some things Insurance does not pay for.  Not sayin' ya can't have 'em, just that you have to pay for it yourself.  The rental car after an accident is not a Rolls Royce, unless you pay for a Rolls Royce.
Enough ranting. Down off the soapbox.
